Part one is a frenetic pop song. Manic vocals plead you to stay grounded and to not despair. Hyperactive drums, bass, and chord stabs underscore this impassioned unrest. Tension and energy build and explode into the quiet ambience of part two.
The wild begging of part one has become reserved regret. Vocal ghosts float above drum machines and synthesizers. Warmth envelopes you. A sudden crescendo leads you to a brick wall of distorted underground dance rhythms. The wall crumbles, revealing part three.
You can only relax for a moment before a thundering drum solo begins, taking you even farther away. Cosmic textures take over as the drums fade, leaving you both satisfied and stunned.
Your journey with "Only Ghost" has ended.
lyrics
'Cause you
You are my only ghost in the morning
And I
I never hurt no one when they're mourning, mourning
Get back up, think first
Remember that you were, we were first
Remember that we were just like them once, them once
Get back up, feet first
I know you're tired of eating dirt
Remember that you belong to no one, no one
Said you
You are my only ghost in the morning
And I
I never hurt no one when they're mourning, mourning
Said you
You are my only ghost in the morning
And I
I never hurt no one when they're mourning, mourning
Get back up, feet first
Remember that you were, we were first
Remember that we were just like them once, them once
Get back up, feet first
I know you're tired of eating dirt
Remember that you belong to no one, no
Said you
You are my only ghost in the morning
And I
I never hurt no one when they're mourning
Get back up, think first
I know you're tired of eating dirt
Remember that you belong to no one, no
Get back up, think first
Remember that you were, we were first
Remember that we were just like them once, no
You are my only ghost in the morning
And I
I never hurt no one
You are my only ghost in the morning
I never hurt no one when they're mourning, mourning
In the morning
Remember that you belong (x8)

Don't be fooled by the iridescent sheen of this glitchy electro-pop artist from London; her music has a tender heart. Bandcamp New & Notable Oct 26, 2021
